Also, my Win 8 UAC (User Account Control) was changed (I assume by the fine folks at Jriver at the same time they hijacked my computer to their hoax link), and other weird things started happening to my computer. Installed as driver for Jriver MC18, and I was redirected to a site that says "jplay is a hoax, you are advised to uninstall" or something close to that. But this is subjective, ain't nobody's bidness but my own. I do "think" I hear better audio quality when I use it as a driver. Don't know why didn't try before, because they are so pratical. Hello Peter, does the "copy 1 track to wav/flac to root" deletes the file after playing it or closing Mini? That's interesting for me that will use on my Wintogo install. You can use W8 explorer (or TC-shell or JRiver or Foobar) to do your track selection. wav/.flac in the root directory and use that to start Jmini with (slightly better SQ). One hotkey to start jmini the "normal" way and one hotkey to copy 1 track first to.
You can use my autohotkey scripts that do just that. With such a minimal solution we could subtitute the SQ degrading Windows Explorer and would have a comfortable ability playing files. doubleclicking of the respective file in the "Jplay Explorer" will start playing in mini. I would be happy by just having a small resourced file explorer / shell combined with the ability of automate the procedure of copying a musicfile and pressing spacebar in mini - eg.
